From Deborah Saunders

Our hearts were warmed on this cold rainy day by a visit to Susannah’s House in downtown Knoxville.

Joyce was kind enough to give us lunch and a detailed tour of the house and describe the wonderful work they do there for young mothers in the area. Our donation from the Christmas tea was presented and was very gratefully received. Members of both the Center Court and Wimbledon chapters as well as Susannah’s house staff and moms ( and a few cute babies) were present.

From Gill Perkins

Yesterday a group of members from both Chapters in Knoxville, visited Susannah’s House, the local charity we selected for the raffle and silent auctions at our 2019 Christmas Tea.

We donated over $1000 and both the clients and staff were so grateful. Thank to Diane for her hard work on the basket, wonderful as always and for members donations, so generous.

I felt so proud that our hard work was going to support such a deserving charity and that our funds would be wisely used to assist these Mum’s and their children and put them on the path toward self sufficiency.

I was really moved by the dedicated staff and volunteers and hope that others will be able to visit later this year. Please ask about this at your upcoming chapter meetings.
