Volunteeer Princess
Crown and Goose Gastro Pub
In 2006 Walter LeMasurier and his family purchased a 1997, 97 foot long luxury yacht and named it the Volunteer Princess. It was to be based at Knoxville Landing and would provide a high class river cruise and dining experience.

This dream is now a fixed reality and an extremely popular excursions for private and themed cruises as well as public cruises.

The crew is highly trained in making your stay on board one of the finest experiences you will have dining on board a boat.

It is very firmly a family business and that theme comes over in every aspect of your cruise.

From Walter greeting you as you step aboard the Princess, to Beverly his wife who plans the events and makes some fantastic meals in the galley. Then there is Chris his son who is the Captain and welcomes you to come up onto his bridge and see the river from a unique perspective. Chris's wife Nikki is the Cruise Coordinator and also assists in the Galley when needed.

The Princess hosts private cruises as well as themed cruises such as Murder and Mystery cruises, Wedding Cruises. You name it, the LeMasurie family will cater to your every requirement and fullfill it to an extremely high standard.

Right on South Central Street in the Old City of Knoxville is a unique British GastroPub named the Crown and Goose.
The pub was first opened in 2008 by Jeffrey and Pat Nash along with their son Jeffrey DeAlejandro.

The Crown and Goose is very much a Britsh Pub, which is refreshing after seeing so many "British Pubs" in America that do not live up to the name.

Enter the pub from either doorway off Central Street and you immediately feel at home. ease up to the bar and order a pint of Smithwicks, Boddingtons or even a Pint of Shandy, and it is very likely that they will know what a Shandy is.

Browse through the menu of Britsh food selections and pick something that will warm the cockles of your heart. Jeffrey's son Jeffrey is the chef and creates some wonderful tradition all food along with some excellent unique twists on Pub Grub. Whatever you choose I am sure tyou will enjoy.

If you fancy something different why not try either the Beer Garden or The Underground.

The Beer Garden is a wonderful place to relax on a warm evening along with friends but even on a cool evening there will be gas table heaters going so you can enjoy the atmosphere in the Autumn.

Walk back inside and go into the Underground which is exactly that. It has been decorated to resemble a "Tube Station" in London. In here you can have small plates if you crave some food and there will very often be Local Bands playing.

If you are looking for that unique special place to hold an event you can rest assured that the Crown and Goose will cater to your every need and carry it out to a very high standard.
OK we covered a unique British Pub in the Crown and Goose, now what about a Scottish Pub? An authentic one at that.

Well Get your Kilt on Guys and your Tartan on Ladies and head on down to Boyd's Jig and Reel on South Central Street in the Old City. Jenny Boyd started the pub with the intention of providing great local music through local bands ranging from Blue Grass to Scottish and Irish Country.

However the food had been a huge success. You can eat very authentic Scottish food such as Scotch Eggs, Meat Pies, Stovies and a Beef and Ale Pie which in my opinion is the best I have ever tatsed.

You have got to try this pub even if your not Scottish but if you are, on Thursday nights they feature a local Scottish Country Group who will take you back to your days in Scotland and surround you in nostalgia.
